Good software design is the cornerstone of any software development initiative –\u00a0if done well it greatly increases a project’s chance of success.\u00a0 We have learned by experience that design is just as important for small software tasks as it is\u00a0for large projects – it performs the just same function in both cases.<\/p>\n
We offer a wide range of software design services.\u00a0 We carry out Software Design for our clients either as part of a development project or as a stand alone design service.\u00a0 Here is a summary of what we offer:<\/p>\n
Requirements Elicitation & Analysis <\/strong>– During this important stage we determine, document\u00a0and analyse the project’s requirements.\u00a0\u00a0We\u00a0liaise with all of the project stakeholders in order to get as full an understanding of the requirements as possible.\u00a0 Secondary requirements which may arise due to performance considerations\u00a0and the like are also considered.\u00a0\u00a0 Test strategies are designed to validate the requirements.\u00a0 The requirements feed directly into both of the following design tasks:<\/p>\n Architectural Design<\/strong> – In some cases, depending on the scale of the project,\u00a0it may be necessary to carry out a high-level or architectural design.\u00a0 As well as designing the software system at a high level of abstraction; various technology, protocol\u00a0and software tool options will be evaluated and chosen.\u00a0 For smaller projects, this stage may not be necessary.<\/p>\n Detailed Design<\/strong> – This design\u00a0task involves\u00a0determining how each of the individual project requirements will be realised\u00a0through\u00a0software, it leads directly to coding.<\/p>\n Rapid Prototype<\/strong>– ‘Ivory Tower’ design is rarely very successful, we like to develop a real working prototype as early as possible in the software design and development cycle so that we can validate our design and gain insights on how to improve it.\u00a0 The prototype evolves with the design and vice versa.<\/p>\n Design Review <\/strong>–\u00a0\u00a0We offer a design review service. It is often very useful to get another pair of eyes to check over and validate an existing\u00a0design before development resources are committed.\u00a0 The earlier potential problems (or opportunities) are spotted the better.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
